OIH Leadership and Training

The OIH Leadership mission is to train, connect, and inspire individuals or young adults to serve their local community in Maine. At the OIH, a nine-month, experiential course on Maine history and community issues. Participants in this finding tune their leadership skills, enhance their knowledge, and receive guidance in choosing and applying for a job or related work experience or demonstrating leadership capability. In addition, the OIH provides access to additional opportunities for partnerships and new business relationships. It runs from September through May.

OIH leadership training is held from September through May; the program includes a two-day opening retreat, a one-day closing retreat, and fourteen evening sessions.

Please note that the retreat, classes, and graduation format may be impacted due to COVID-19 recommendations and restrictions. The OIH leadership training will adhere to CDC and government recommendations to ensure safe programming. As such, dates and class sizes may be adjusted based on recommendations from health experts. Some courses and events typically conducted in person may move to virtual formats to follow social distancing recommendations.
