Valent Odwar is from South Sudan, who came to the United in 2018 as an immigrant and currently lives with his wife in Portland, Maine. Valent Odwar serves as voluntary Secretary General for the Board of Directors of OIH. His voluntary service is highly appreciated.

Valent Odwar holds a diploma Certificate in Integrated Rural Development, Small Scale Business Enterprises in 1990 from Pan Africa Institute Development, Cameroon, Africa, a Certificate in Business Organization and Management in 1984 from Cooperative College of Kenya, East Africa, and a computer skill Training – ACTS.

Before moving to the United States, Valent held various positions with nonprofit organizations, and his last assignment was with the Norwegian Church Aids, South Sudan, where his responsibilities included the collection of data, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the strategic plans for the department that involve organizing for meetings for community activities and organizations.
